Alicia Villarreal earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and subsequently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with her Masters degree in Social Work. Ms. Alicia (or “Alice”) has been a Licensed Master Social Worker and Psychotherapist for 9 years and adopts the generalist approach to therapy. This approach emphasizes the need to view a person as a whole within the context of their experience, interdependence and mutual influence with others in their social and physical environments.
Ms. Alicia utilizes the approaches that are assessed to be best suited for each client. These approaches include CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and other appropriate approaches.
Additionally, Ms. Alicia frames her work with clients within a Strengths Based Perspective to acknowledge, explore, cultivate, and affirm and build the inherent positive traits.
