About Mr. Joshua Forbess, LCSW

Josh provides crisis and therapeutic interventions to sworn law enforcement, civilians employed by the department, and their families; serves as an in-between for mental health assessments and fit-for-duty evaluations; and assists in critical incident debriefs and trainings. The Wellness Counselor is a new position to the profession, so the work and research that Josh is conducting has been trailblazing for law enforcement and social workers. Josh believes rapport building is the key in any therapeutic relationship. Josh does not focus on one type of treatment, intervention, strategy, approach, or modality; he believes that everyone has a different need in therapy, and he will not compel a client to use a specific method. Josh believes that laughter is a vital component in finding your balance. Josh will meet you where you are at, not where others think you should be. Josh retired from the US Army after 20 years; he served overseas in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq as an Artilleryman.
